ABOUT

HOME

Our Mission:

Pathway Home respects the needs and those who are needing end of life care. We will offer those who are terminally ill and their loved ones a transition that focuses on comfort, dignity, spirituality and quality of life. Our home will provide a warm, accepting and supportive environment for our residents at no cost.

A Brief History:

In the spring of 2009, a group of concerned citizens gathered together to start on the journey to bring a comfort care home to Seneca County. This mission was conceived out of need and compassion, and will fill a long absence of loving home- like palliative care open to all members of our community. To make this vision a reality will take the support of our entire community. All gifts will be enthusiastically received, whether a monetary gift, construction materials, landscaping, furniture, fundraising help or becoming a volunteer to staff the house. We hope you will join us on this journey and help make Pathway Home a refuge for the terminally ill and their families.

Who Can be Cared For?

Pathway Home will be a two-bedroom home for the terminally ill, who have been medically determined to be in the last three months of life and who have chosen palliative care instead of curative treatment. Admission is based solely upon need, regardless of age, gender, religion, race or the ability to pay. Preference will be given to those who can no longer be cared for in their own home. Pathway Home will affirm each dying person’s dignity, while encouraging them to participate in determining what would most enhance quality of life. We will embrace the family and friends of the resident with love and support that will continue through the grieving process. Staff and volunteers believe comfort can be maintained in the face of death in a supportive setting of warmth and personalized care. There are no fees.
